Privacy Policy — Universal PiP Pro
Last updated: August 12, 2026
Universal PiP Pro ("the extension") lets you display any browser tab, window, or screen in a floating Picture-in-Picture window, and optionally connect it to a Telegram bot to receive screenshots and control it remotely. This page explains what data the extension and its companion bot server collect, how it is used, and how you can control it.
Data we collect
- Screenshots / video frames from the specific browser tab you choose to display in Picture-in-Picture. We never access any tab other than the one you explicitly share.
- Page title of the tab currently shown in Picture-in-Picture — used only to display a human-readable status in the Telegram bot (e.g. "PiP active — Example Page").
- Telegram chat identifier, once you connect the extension to the bot — used to route messages, screenshots, and commands to you and only you.
- Telegram-reported language code — used to show bot messages and menus in your language.
- Settings you configure — auto-screenshot interval, storage preference, a device name you assign, mute state.
- Usage counters and subscription status — how many screenshots have been sent (a number, not the images) and whether you have an active optional Premium subscription (a true/false flag), confirmed via Telegram's own Stars payment system.
Data we do not collect
- We do not access, capture, or transmit content from any tab other than the one you explicitly place into Picture-in-Picture.
- We do not collect browsing history, passwords, or the text content of pages you visit.
- We do not process or store payment card or bank details. The optional Premium subscription is paid entirely inside Telegram via Telegram Stars — our server only receives a payment confirmation from Telegram, never financial details.
How we use your data
- To display the Picture-in-Picture stream you request.
- To deliver screenshots — manual or on an interval you configure — to your own Telegram chat.
- To let you check status and send remote commands (pause/resume, mute, switch tab, etc.) from Telegram to your browser.
- To enable optional Premium features you have paid for.
Where your data is stored
Screenshots are relayed directly to your own Telegram chat through our server (hosted on Render at universal-pip-bot.onrender.com) and are not retained on the server after delivery.
Profile data (chat ID, language, device name(s), Premium status, screenshot count) is stored on our server so your settings and subscription persist between sessions. It is never sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Third parties
- Telegram — used as the messaging platform to deliver screenshots and notifications, and to process optional Premium payments via Telegram Stars. Telegram's own privacy policy applies to data processed within Telegram: telegram.org/privacy.
- We do not share your data with any other third party.
Your choices
- Disconnect the extension from the Telegram bot at any time from the extension popup ("Regenerate code"), which invalidates the connection immediately.
- Disable auto-screenshots, or remove a connected device, from the extension popup or the bot's menu.
- Uninstall the extension at any time — this immediately stops all data collection.
- Contact us (below) to request deletion of your stored profile data.
Permissions the extension requests, and why
activeTab / tabs — to identify which tab to capture for Picture-in-Picture and let you switch to or focus it.
tabCapture — to capture the video of the tab you select, without a source-picker dialog, for the "current tab" PiP mode.
storage — to save your settings and Telegram connection token locally in your browser.
clipboardWrite — to let you copy your connection code with one click.
- Host permissions (all sites) — required so Picture-in-Picture and screenshot capture can work on any website you choose to share, and so the extension can reach our bot server to deliver screenshots and receive remote commands.
Data retention
- Screenshots: not retained after delivery to your Telegram chat.
- Profile/session data: retained until you disconnect or request deletion.
Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
